Today, over-the-road trucks require long hours of driving in cluttered, uncomfortable interiors. In the near future, autonomous vehicles will become more and more prevalent. This concept expresses the option of autonomy with comfortable space and ease of use.

For this project, I worked on re-imagining the over-the-road truck. This maglev Scania concept for the near future focuses on an increase on space, visibility, and comfort with autonomous capabilities.

Over-the-road trucks today are typically manned for uncomfortably long hours in cluttered interiors with relatively poor visability. This concept provides the user with open space, the option of autonomy, and excellent visibility.

The truck is powered by a battery and magnet system that runs through the main “Skateboard. It depends on a magnetized road system.

Instead of pedals, the truck utilizes a throttle system that can be toggled by pushing and pulling the steering wheel. Turning is done by pushing and pulling each individual handle.

The truck’s holographic interface can be projected directly onto the panels of command area. Additionally, the windscreen acts as a hud that displays.
