AltoVolo’s Sigma is a quiet, long-range hybrid jet redefining flight with vertical takeoff, private comfort, and driveway-sized dimensions. AltoVolo is an aerospace startup founded by design engineer Will Wood. One of the most striking features of the Sigama is the aircraft’s noise reduction: the company claims Sigma operates at a level 80% quieter than helicopters.

Sigma’s projected 500-mile range is roughly four times greater than many current eVTOL competitors, putting regional and even intercity trips within practical reach. Design-wise, Sigma takes inspiration from the world of high-performance automobiles rather than conventional airplanes.

The silhouette is compact and sharply sculpted, measuring just 4.8 meters wide and weighing 980 kilograms even when carrying three passengers. With a cruise speed of 220mph, passengers can traverse vast distances in less time than ever imagined for personal aircraft.

AltoVolo has combined a patent pending tilting electric jet design and integrated aerodynamics, to leverage the high burst capability of batteries for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL), and the energy density of liquid fuel for long range flight.

The dream is to make flight accessible for daily commutes, short business hops, or quick weekend getaways, all without the headache of terminals, timetables, or overburdened city roads.
