The mini truck also has a small loading bay but it isn’t clear how much weight the rear deck can withstand or will it be able to haul a kei-sized trailer.

Mini trucks are generally used for intra-city low tonnage cargo delivery, like postal and courier services. However, if Daihatsu’s marketing material is anything to go by, the Japanese automaker wants to portray it as a lifestyle vehicle.

The key feature of this concept is not the fun design, but rather the unique motor. The FC Deco Deck is also able to offer external pep – it can tote FC Docks (in two sizes, no less) to help generate electricity for an assortment of uses.

There’s the 05c version of the generator, which is a portable unit. One simply puts bottled liquid fuel in the unit, and the unit is good for juice on the go. There’s also the 20c model, which is a larger static duty unit for multi-appliance applications, be it indoor, outdoor or emergency use.

Tather than pulling trailers, this concept is intended to demonstrate the capabilities of a newly developed platform with fuel cells built under the floor. The cells are stored in a special box and can be easily replaced if necessary.
