Arcimoto Mechanical Designer Leo Cruces tests out the Cybertrike prototype of the Mean Lean Machine. With improvements in stability, handling, range and accessories, the Cybertrike brings Arcimoto one step closer to releasing the one-of-a-kind electric tilting trike for micromobility.

Designed to be a best-in-class tilting e-trike, the MLM is powered by three hub motors and a pedal generator and has no messy chain or belt. The Cybertrike prototype brings major improvements in terms of suspension, its carbon-fiber wheels, and more, further refining the riding experience.

Each of the three wheels on the Cybertrike will have a hub motor, and those hub motors will be connected to one another to provide torque vectoring. The riding experience is similar to riding a bike, with stability at high and low-speed thanks to the world-class tilting technology.

Riders can take full advantage of assisted pedaling or just use the thumb throttle and avoid pedaling altogether. And as part of the design process, Arcimoto is also finalizing attachment points like bottle cages and racks. Riders can take full advantage of assisted pedaling or just use the thumb throttle and avoid pedaling altogether. As we wait to learn more about the MLM and hopefully see a production version soon.

Targeting a range of 200+ miles with auxiliary batteries, the mean lean machine (MLM) by arcimoto can carry up to two passengers. Despite it having a pedal interface like a bicycle or e-bike, there’s no mechanical connection between the pedals and the wheels. It’s all drive-by-wire.
